Middlesex Learning Trust (MLT) is driven by an unrelenting belief in excellence. Evidence shows that a combination of strong collaboration and accountability, afforded by a multi academy trust structure drives up standards. Academies working together formally in this way are able to offer shared CPLD, high quality school-to-school support, a range of shared experiences for students as well as efficiencies across the organisation.
With the recent addition of Southgate School to MLT we now have two highly successful academies working in a formal partnership. The Compton and Southgate are both Teaching Schools working with a wide range of partners at a local, regional and national level. In this way, both academies play an important role contributing to improving education nationally. Both schools are led by National Leaders in Education (NLEs) with staff who have extensive experience of delivering high quality CPLD. The OFSTED Outstanding Compton SCITT provides excellent teacher training based at the school and MLT more widely provides first rate career opportunities across its academies.
Currently I chair the DFE Secondary Heads’ Reference Group and I am a member of the Regional Schools Commissioner’s Headteacher Board for North West London South Central (NWLSC). In both roles I advise the Government on education policy. Additionally I lead the coordination of the work of the 100+ Teaching Schools in NWLSC for the DFE. My work at national and regional level puts me in a very privileged position as I am exposed to the latest in educational practice and I am able to share that across MLT.
Our aim is that MLT continues to deliver high quality educational outcomes for all it’s pupils as we grow. If you would like to join us and if what you read here encourages you to find out more please contact me at CEO@middlesexlearningtrust.org.uk
